Panorama - Here are three business establishments you would
find in any small town: the toy store, movie theater and variety. This
photo is a composite shot that I pieced together with my digital camera.
It's not perfect, but it does the trick. The toy store and theater are
made of sintra and styrene.
The Superette is cream-colored acrylic with black accent strips. Very
1930's! The movie house has a full lobby with concession stand and restrooms,
plus a 20-seat movie theater in the back. The posters are taken from
magazines, and then Xeroxed.
Toy Store
Toy store interior - The brickwork comes in styrene sheets
that you cut to size, then paint. The items in the store are from all over
the place; some are Franklin Mint extras, Hallmark Card miniature Christmas
ornaments, N scale train vehicles and HO scale white metal cast furniture
that I used in the dollhouse. The dollhouse itself is hand built from styrene.
The pedal car is a resin cast piece from the company called Grandpa's Attic.
Superette

materials. The Coke cases and milk crates are courtesy of Franklin Mint.
The blue wire rack is made of found brass pieces then painted.
Superette II
Superette interior II - I was always fascinated by those
large scales they used to use in grocery stores. When I was thinking about
doing a Variety store it was clear that it had to have one. The scale is
made of plastic tubing, styrene strips and earring pieces. The meat case
is styrene with black two-ply paper to simulate the rubber gasket.
