“A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”

Monday Rose and I took our 15 mile bike ride on the D&L Trail in Rockport PA. We ride 7 1/2 miles from Rockport to the Tannery then turn around and head back to Rockport. 3 1/2 miles back I blew a tire. I carry a spare tube so no big deal NOT. Put the spare tube in rode about a half mile and the tube blew. Now I am screwed. I had to walk out 4 1/2 miles pushing my bike.
Now our daughter calls us everyday just to check in. Well, we had no cell service on the trail so our daughter sent everybody she could call to our house to look for the bodies. LOL! But our friend who has a key checked the garage and saw the car and bikes where gone so he called our daughter and told her that. Now she thinks we were eaten by a bear on the trail or worse yet drove into the raging river. LOL!
So now she is calling all our friends to form a search party for the two old fools on a bike. When we finally got to the car and had cell service both our phones lit up like the fourth of July. Well at least we know we are loved by our kids and good friends. We survived...
It really is a big deal about "can you hear me now?" these days, if the answer is silence.
You better get one of those portable CB radios, Myron. I think they have enough range for you to ride into that trail, as a backup. Although in your hills, maybe not.
