What's your choice, the chicken or the egg. Thankfully I stocked up on chicken a month ago before chicken parts went up in price. Don't fully understand the issue as I stopped following US news after the elections. Thankfully I have enough chicken breast in the freezer to last six weeks. I also like my eggs for breakfast 3-4 times a week. Over medium or I make great omelets. Today at the store, OMG, jumbo eggs nearing $10.00 a dozen while a month or so ago under $5.00 a dozen. Is this the future?

I am old enough to remember Y2K before the clock turned to year 2000. My older brother, a computer geek at Microsoft, kept telling me not a problem. Love my brother but. So I stockpiled a years supply of cigarettes, vodka, cat litter, cat food, and T/P. All the essentials. I was prepared for the worst. Not so funny at the time, two days before 2000 New Years, my brother emailed me saying don't turn on my computer for a week after New Years. Microsoft was not telling us something.
What is your current choice today, chicken or the egg? I have chicken in the freezer, and I cracked one egg today putting it in the frig. But I wrapped that egg in tape then boiled it for future use. Think I will buy more T/P, cat food, etc. next week, just in case. Some paper products come from Canada, some ingredient's in pet food come from China. Hopefully the US can still produce domestic cat litter free of tariffs.

Takao, I have always liked reading your posts from your perspective in Japan. Its not some of us are willing to pay the extra tariffs, its the vendors not willing to import and pay the extra fees. I don't blame the vendors.
Fewer vendors, fewer selections, higher prices, as a result of the tariffs. The US consumer is going to pay, and pay dearly. They deserve to pay for voting as they did.

Small and medium companies in Japan who makes models in China are still experiencing difficult conditions.

Early in the last March, EBBRO went bankrupt with liabilities of 550 million yen (US $ 3,760,000.00) , after that, in Augast, the founder took his own life, and everything about Ebbro were dispersed like mist.
Seven years ago, Kyosho went bankrupt once, then, they got a very depressed after having some difficult experiences, but compared to before, they seems to have bounced back a little.

And now.
I think a few US companies who makes models in China are doing everything they can, but due to the tariffs and the rising cost of raw materials they will have no choice but to raise prices.

My friends in the US, can you pay money for the world' highest tariff on the model cars?
Don't you think the Miniature cars business in the US has almost come to an end.
